Name: Natalie Krzemienski

Your education background:

BA in Human Development/Family Studies w/ Concentration in Childhood/Adolescent Development from UConn

MA in Elementary Education from Sacred Heart University

In Progress: 6th Year Diploma in Remedial Reading/Language Arts from UConn

What do you love about teaching Kindergarten?

I love that Kindergarteners are like little sponges that just absorb everything you are teaching. It is super fun to watch them come in knowing very little and leaving ready for 1st grade.

Teachers are the frontline workers for our children in this pandemic. What has been your biggest challenge or adjustment these last couple years?

My biggest challenge was teaching early literacy skills while wearing a mask. Mouth movement can be crucial for understanding how to read and how to say certain letter sounds so it was difficult to teach that with a mask. However, they all did such a great job and adjusted so quickly.

What is your biggest motivation this year and what are you most proud of?

My biggest motivation this year was the students. They came in every day ready to learn and I wanted them to grow. I am super proud of this Kindergarten team. Kindergarten as a whole made so much progress this year and I love working with this team of teachers and paraprofessionals!

Why did you become a teacher?

I have always loved working with children, and I couldn't see myself doing anything else!

A fun fact about you!

I am a Zumba instructor on the side! I teach weekly classes in the Westchester / Fairfield county areas!
